The Keys to Prevention of Premature Aging

By William E. Wheeler, Ph.D., RD

There is considerable interest in factors that can either stop or reverse the effects of premature aging. Several authors have shown that by increasing levels of Human Growth Hormone (HGH) many of the symptoms associated with aging could be reduced or partially reversed.

These findings have stimulated considerable interest in the sale of various products that have been suggested to contain HGH. Unfortunately, the ingestion of HGH will not have an effect on blood levels of HGH. This is due to the fact that the HGH molecule is too large to be absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract. Consequently, research focus has concentrated on the pursuit of factors that may help stimulate HGH secretion by the pituitary gland. Such compounds are known as secretagues.

Various secretagues have been suggested over the past few years. For example, compounds such as amino acids, herbal extracts, biotin, vitamin B6 and vitamin E have been suggested as secretagues. However, most of these investigations have focused entirely on HGH but not the underlying causes of low levels of HGH. These issues involved the stimulation of Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GRH). Furthermore, changes to cellular DNA profiles have not been addressed as probable causes of low HGH.

GRH with its 44 amino acid peptide triggers the release of HGH. Moreover, Pero (1999) found that changes to cellular DNA structure were responsible for GRH deficiencies. Changes to DNA structure were associated with factors responsible for premature aging such as nutritional deficiencies, environment and pollutants. Therefore, the key to prevention of premature aging contains many factors.

In the 20th Century, science proved the key to cellular life and function was the message center of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Thus, DNA has a significant effect on both GRH and HGH. DNA has been shown to contain the keys to both cellular health and aging. However, several factors such as aging, environmental toxins, disease and stress can permanently alter the cellular DNA message and result in premature aging, poor health or death.

The scientific staff at Wachters' has pioneered the development of products that support cellular health. Now, the scientists at Wachters' have spent several years in researching and developing a product that would support normal cellular DNA function. This research involved the investigation of both herbal and dietary factors, which affect the repair, or replenishment of our natural cellular DNA. Consequently, for the 21st Century, this effort has resulted in the most revolutionary product available on the market today, WDNA. WDNA, unlike any other product, provides all the factors necessary to support healthy DNA. There is no other formula on the market that has been exclusively designed to support healthy cellular DNA.

WDNA contains both nutritional factors such as riboflavin, vitamin B6, L-Arginine, L-Methionine and DNA. It also contains herbal factors such as Uncaria tormentosa and wild yam root that affect DNA repair. The 1996 Nobel Prize for Medicine was awarded to the research group at Stanford University for its findings concerning L-Arginine. Therefore, WDNA contains a complex of secretague compounds. It is important to realize that WDNA must be taken everyday as part of a total supplementation program.

Several popular books (The Wrinkle Cure by Nicholas Perricone, MD)have been written concerning ways to prevent premature aging. These books suggest "cures" for premature aging that can range from questionable treatments with human growth hormone (HGH) to mud baths. Unfortunately, most of these suggested "cures" for aging are expensive, can be unsafe and simply don't work.

Another key to prevention of premature aging is very simple - protein balance. Research has clearly shown that the best aid to the prevention of premature aging is to eat large amounts of protein while reducing carbohydrate intake. Skin, hair and nails are over 80% protein. Consequently, by not consuming enough dietary protein, we are literally starving our skin of an essential nutrient, protein. This results in those unsightly wrinkles.

Dietary protein balance is essential for repairing and restoring the damage done to our body's by free radicals. Sugar, a simple carbohydrate, in our bodies causes the formation of cell-damaging free radicals. These free radicals cause damage to the skin that speeds up the aging process. The best anti-aging diet is to choose a balance of protein sources. Furthermore, a diet rich in balanced proteins lowers your blood sugar, gives you a healthy glow and improves your mood. These important benefits from balanced proteins also will boost how you look and feel.

I am seeing more clients with premature aging today than ever before. As part of a consultation, I request these clients to complete a Personal Profile where I can evaluate medical as well as dietary issues. These profiles have shown that clients with premature aging and wrinkles are not getting enough protein in their diet. Moreover, they are not getting the right balance of different proteins to aid in the prevention of premature wrinkles. Furthermore, most of these clients are consuming 1/3 to ½ the optimum amount of protein. For example, I suggest that women should consume a minimum of 50 grams protein per day whereas men should consume no less than 80 grams per day. Surprisingly, these clients look younger in days after their dietary protein intake is increased.

The Less N Lean Protein Shake is a key to meeting your protein needs. These delicious protein shakes will not only allow you to lose weight but also to look younger at the same time. Simply have one or two of these delicious, Less N Lean shakes daily. This will allow you to not only maintain a 'face-lift" level of protein but also it will allow you to obtain the right combination of different proteins to nourish and revitalize your skin. Unlock the power of protein to help you fight the signs of aging. Feel younger - look younger with a Less N Lean Protein Shake and WDNA.
